So, the other day, I was watching All About Eve. And I kept thinking about how at the Oscars of 1950, it took pretty much every Ocsar from S.B. Which do you guys think should have won for Best Picture?

And another thing to note: neither Bette Davis or Gloria Swanson won Best Actress. Between the two of them, which do you think best deserved that award? And could it have been that the fact that the characters they played were similar enough to lose it for both of them?

(As a petty revenge I would like to add that Sunset Boulevard is listed as number 31 of the best films ever on imdb.com, and All About Eve is 53. :: giggles :: )

I've not seen All About Eve yet...tis so sad. Thus, I shouldn't judge. I'm fine with neither of them winning; twould be too hard to choose.

Both films are wonderful. My personal opinion is that Gloria, fantastic as she was, didn't have a chance of winning because her character showed Hollywood in a way that the Academy wasn't comfortable at the time. I think Davis definitely could have won, god knows her performance was brilliant, if Anne Baxter had went into the best supporting actress instead of having two actresses from the same film, so the votes were split between them, in one category.
